About this site

This webpage was fairly rapidly thrown together on the advice of a certain A. Garrett, who thought it’d be a good idea to collate everyone’s digital photos such that if you missed that crucial shot in a group-photo-frenzy, you can grab one of twenty other photos taken by other people of exactly the same pose. Good idea, indeed!

Joshua Street is responsible for the haphazard mess that is this website (hey, it’s gradually getting better!), which aims to provide a mechanism for sharing the myriad photos shot on digital cameras in the last days of our schooling life at St Andrews in 2005.

And, just for the record, the school isn’t responsible for any of this, and doesn’t endorse this site or publication of materials herein in any way.

So, how does this thing work?

Right. If you’re just here to view photos, come right on in, the water’s great.

If you’re a wonderful person who has taken lots of great photos and wants to share them with the rest of the year group, read on.

Submitting your photos

So I only caught wind of this idea this afternoon, and put this website up this evening. I haven’t had time to do things properly yet. Right now, the best thing you can do is get photos to me, Joshua Street, on a CD or DVD. Obviously we haven’t had the formal or valedictory service yet, but if you want to give me a disc at either of those two, feel free.

I’m going to setup a facility on this site that allows you to upload a ZIP file full of your photos, but that’s still in the works, and, unless you’ve got fast Internet, potentially a painfully slow process.

If you haven't got a CD/DVD burner and would like to contribute photos, I can transfer photos off your digital camera or memory card. Obviously there are minor logistical problems here, depending on how soon you need your camera back, etc., but we can work that out.

Isn’t running a website expensive? Who’s paying for this?

Well, it helps when you work for a web hosting company. But yes, it does cost money. Any contributions to help offset the cost of hosting are more than welcome.
